Appeals From Dewey County District Court

Oklahoma is unusual at the top. It has two courts of last resort instead of one. The Oklahoma Supreme Court is the highest court for civil matters. The Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals is the court of last resort for criminal cases. There is no single regional court of appeals that takes every district-court appeal.

For civil cases, an appeal goes to the Oklahoma Supreme Court, which may keep the case or assign it to the Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals.
